Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa had a very public falling out when the former did not name the actress as one of her best friends in an interview, which sent fans into a spiral of speculation.
Many assumed that their feud had something to do with the actress donating her kidney to the "Lose You to Love Me" singer, however, she put the rumors to rest.
"I am okay now, and just for the record, it had nothing to do with the kidney," Raisa said in an interview, noting that her beef with the singer is now water under the bridge.
She then described her relationship with Gomez as something deeper and almost sister-like.
"We trauma-bonded, which is beautiful, but also it can get rocky and tricky... People grow, relationships change,' Raisa continued. "Obviously, I treat her like my little sister, she treats me like her older sister...
"I don't know any relationship that's perfect... When our situation came up... No, I never pictured that, but obviously I never regretted it. I am happy that we are here today, celebrating and supporting each other."
Selena Gomez, Francia Raisa Friendship
Gomez and Raisa became close when they were both at Disney Channel. They were sent to go to Children's Hospital for visits, where they bonded.
"She was in my group. She came up to me and was like, 'My mom had a teenage pregnancy, she was 16 years old, and we love your show.' I was like, 'Oh, my God, thank you! I love your show,'" she recalled.
She also explained how their bond further deepened when they both opened up about their messy relationships at the time, "We were just inseparable after that ever since."
Selena Gomez Kidney Transplant, Alleged Feud
Gomez revealed that she had a kidney transplant in 2017 due to complications from Lupus; Raisa donated the organ.
While Raisa did not discuss what the alleged feud was about, she did talk about how she and Gomez "almost go on [their] own journey" in order to grow.
"Now I am really happy in my career now and my endeavor. I don't know if I would be able to do that if I didn't really take some time for myself and figure out what the hell was going on with me because I wasn't okay."
