When Ally Brooke hinted that Fifth Harmony was up to something "sooner than we'd think," fans of the disbanded girl group went wild.

During her appearance at E! News, the host commented about the *NSYNC reunion, and pondered about the fate of Fifth Harmony.

"I do feel like, in the future, we'll get all the girls together," they said, to which Brooke replied, "A hundred percent. We may be working on something."

However, apparently, the reunion was not exactly as the fans expected, because the singer was quick to clear up the confusion on X (formerly known as Twitter).

"I'm thrilled to see there's a lot of interest surrounding Fifth Harmony," Brooke wrote. "Reunion has many meanings and while there's no official band reunion happening at the moment, some beautiful friendships and relationships are slowly reuniting in a healing and empowering way."

Fifth Harmony Reunion Rumored Debunked

Following Brooke's clarification, netizens poked fun at Fifth Harmony as a group and even their solo careers.

"Who can name all of the members?" One asked.

"That solo s**t ain't working out lol," another added.

Meanwhile, fans could not help but feel sad about the reunion rumors quickly extinguished.

"My emotions got played with but at least the girls are talking with each other again," a fan wrote.

"Formal reunion may not be on the horizon. The development in relationships and friendships among the former Fifth Harmony members is heartwarming."

Fifth Harmony Disbandment

There were many rumors surrounding why Fifth Harmony disbanded in 2018. Some assumed that the group fell apart after Camila Cabello left to go solo, while others say that the split was inevitable.

We've had one hell of a memorable journey together and can't begin to express our gratitude to y'all for coming along with us on this wild journey," the group wrote in their announcement.

"After six years going hard, nonstop, we realize that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and you.

"We need to take some time, for now, to go on a hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue sole endeavors.

"[...] In doing this, we are allowing ourselves to gain new experiences, strengths, and perspectives that we can bring back to our Fifth Harmony family."

The group was formed in 2012 after they auditioned as soloists on the "X Factor." The group was formed by Simon Cowell.
