Mel B, Scary Spice Reveals How Ex KILLED Self-Confidence, And How She Regained It!

Mel B said that after her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte reportedly called her "fat and ugly," her fiancé Rory McPhee made her feel "more confident than ever."

In an interview that was released on Wednesday, the Spice Girls member said that it has taken me years, but she feels more confident than ever now and she's with a partner who tells me he loves her and that she's beautiful every day.

Mel, 48, told the publication, "He'd say, 'You look old,' 'You look fat,' 'God, you are ugly,' 'Your arms are flabby' week in and week out."

Those remarks are similar like rain in several ways. They absorb straight into her, erasing her feeling of self and confidence.

As a result, she no lnger see a strong, contented woman in the mirror, but rather a reflection of what others have told her.

Mel stated that she wasn't ready for Belafonte's supposed criticism of her physical looks, despite the fact that she had to deal with public scrutiny ever since becoming famous with the Spice Girls in the 1990s.

The singer said that she has been in the spotlight since she was a teenager, so she becomes quite thick-skinned when people make nasty remarks.. but it hits completely different to hear these nasty things from a person supposedly loving you.
