BLACKPINK fans are going wild over the new single Jennie just dropped titled "You & Me," which boasted a cover art made by the creator of the iconic anime "Sailor Moon."
Jennie's cover art was designed by none other than Nakao Takeuchi, the author of "Sailor Moon," however, the surprise from the KPOP star does not end there.
According to reports, Jennie and Takeuchi have teamed up to release merchandise, which will be released through YG Entertainment's website.
As of this writing, though, the merchandise is yet to be officially released, however, fans are already preparing their wallets for the big drop, because this will surely be one of the most iconic merchandise releases in KPOP history.
Fans could not help but marvel at how Jennie and her team somehow convinced the author to create the cover of her new single.
"I'll never doubt a taste of this woman in things just perfect that's why she's the it girl," one wrote.
"An it girl supporting another it girl," another added.
Jennie Drops New Song 'You & Me'
While "You & Me" might be a complete surprise to some, BLACKPINK fans already knew about its existence long before it was announced to be released.
Jennie reportedly performed the song on the opening night of the KPOP girl group's blockbuster "Born Pink" world tour in Seoul, South Korea.
It was only a matter of time before she released the song, after performing it once again during BLACKPINK's legendary Coachella performance earlier this year.
BLACKPINK's Solo Careers
"You & Me" marks the second single from Jennie. Her debut was back in 2018 with "Solo."
Meanwhile, the other members of BLACKPINK have all launched their solo careers; Rose with "R," Lisa with "Lalisa," and Jisoo with "Me."
Fans are now even more worried about the fate of BLACKPINK, especially amid the contract renewal fiasco going on between the members and their label and talent agency, YG Entertainment.
Some claim that "You & Me" will be Jennie's last hurrah as a member of BLACKPINK, while some fans still cling to hope and say that BLACKPINK will continue as a four-membered group.
According to reports, as of this writing, Rose is the only member of the KPOP girl group that is confirmed to have renewed her contract with YG Entertainment. Other members are still negotiating their contracts, and some rumors say that Jennie and Jisoo will be launching their own agencies.
