Belcalis Almanzar (known professionally as Cardi B) was born on October 11, 1992 in Bronx, New York. Raised in the same area in New York, Cardi B and her grandmother were together most of the time in the neighborhood next to Bronx called Washington Heights. Cardi's mother is Trinidadian and her father is Dominican in ethnicities.

As a teen, Cardi was a member of the Bloods gang. As per Biography.com, the then young aspiring rapper was a student at the Renaissance High School for Musical Theater and Technology. To get away from her poor living conditions and an abusive partner, Cardi ventured into the stripping industry.

How Cardi B Started Her Music Career

Cardi B signed on with Atlantic records in 2017. Thereafter, Cardi B made her debut in the music industry during the same year, when she released her debut single, "Bodak Yellow". As per All Music, when Cardi topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, she was the first female rapper to had achieved the feat in almost two decades. In 2018, Cardi followed up with a debut studio album called, "Invasion of Privacy." This album topped the number one spot of the chart. Its lead single, "I Like It" fared likewise successfully on the chart.

Cardi B Hits, Accomplishments, and Accolades

Cardi's other chart topping hits include G-Eazy's "No Limit" and Migos' "Motorsport". The rapper went on to release the single, "Bartier Cardi" that was a song in collaboration with 21 Savage, and a remix of the Bruno Mars' song, "Finesse."

"Invasion of Privacy" was the album that was the source of Cardi's snag of the Grammy for Best Rap album. To date, the "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker was the first solo female rapper to had won the accolade. Cardi's latest hits are 2020's "WAP", featuring Megan Thee Stallion, 2021's "Up", and 2023"s Megan Thee Stallion hit, "Bongos."

Cardi B Doesn't Take Sides Among Other Artists

In a surprising revelation, the New York native rapper recently shares that she does not like seeing her collaborator musicians to take on sides amongst artists, as per Bet.com. The secret behind Cardi B's maintenance of such a stance stems from, according to her, her motto of prioritizing business dealings, sans personal ones. Cardi B does indeed have a fair and openminded mindset when it comes to professionally dealing with her colleagues in the music industry!
