Randy Owen of Alabama was given another shot in life as he survived cancer years ago. Today, the musician is giving his fans an update and revealed whether his band would go on tour in the future or not.

According to Taste of Country, the singer attended the Country Cares Seminar for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital earlier this week where he shared details about his health.

"I'm 73 years old. I just had my tests and everything, and everything came back really good... I had my flu shot. So, I'm ready to go," he said.

At the event, Owen was still present and he handed the Angels Among Us trophy to another country musician who won this year, the Brothers Osbourne.

Randy Owen Says He Relates to Children With Cancer After Being Diagnosed

Owen has been cancer free for more than a decade now and he revealed in a previous interview with the Tennesseaan that being diagnosed with the medical condition was a blessing for him.

The reason why he views cancer that way is because it allowed him to relate in a different manner with children battling the illness at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

In 1989, Owen was the one who founded the Country Cares program and had been very active in the community since then.

"I can look at those sweet little children at St. Jude and their families and say, 'I'm with you. I'm a cancer survivor. I know what it's like to be told that I have cancer,'" he said at the time.

Is Randy Owen Going On Tour With Alabama?

Unfortunately, Alabama had to cancel some of their shows in the past due to Randy Owen's health problems.

One of the incidents was in 2019 when he suffered from a severe vertigo and migraine headaches.

Now that he's looking forward to spending more time with fans in 2024, does that mean he's going on tour again?

He told the outlet that he's hoping to go on a series of concerts with his band, but the ability to tour is unsure as he still needed to recover.

"I just never know. I enjoy every show and thank God I get to do one more show," he said.
