Since Jada Pinkett Smith claimed her marriage to Will Smith had been over for years, there has been a change of heart.
She now contends that the two are attempting to heal their difficulties together.
This week, Jada, 52, has been making TV appearances to promote her new memoir, "Worthy."
Her most recent stop was on Monday with "Today" for an interview about the book.
Just last week, viewers were given a sneak peek at an interview between Jada and Hoda Kotb. In the clip, Jada shared with Hoda that although she and her husband, Will, are still legally married, they do not live together.
Jada said during that time, "By the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying. I think we were both still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be."
"I promised that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. We will work through whatever. And I just haven't been able to break that promise."
Hoda wanted to know whether Jada and Will lived together, and the answer was "No."
An extract from the book highlighted Jada's surprise when Will referred to her as his "wife" after he slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars.
Jada Pinkett-Smith Confirmed Marriage is Not Over
In a recent in-studio interview on Monday, Jada opened up about the status of her marriage, asserting that it was still ongoing and by no means finished.
"We are working very hard at bringing our relationship, yes, bringing our relationship back together... back to a marriage again," she revealed.
"Husband-wife marriage for me, for my healing process. I came into that with particular ideas, right? Very specific ideas that were blocked," the mom-of-two said.
"To me, just seeing Will to who he is. He can't be this perfect idealized husband. 'I have to be able to accept him for the human he is. He accepts me for the human that I am, and we want to love each other there."
Hoda was taken aback when they heard Jada's response, saying in shock, "Oh! Okay. Well, I didn't know that."
Jada then explained the result of their discussion to Hoda, informing them, "You missed that. That's the whole thing."
After Jada Pinkett Smith's bombshell revelations, the world eagerly awaited a response from her husband, actor and rapper, Will Smith. His admission of feeling "emotionally blind" to the situation sparked quite an uproar on social media.
Page Six reported that in an email to The New York Times, Will admitted that his wife's memoir was a wakeup call for him.
Will Smith Admires Wife, Jada
After carefully examining her life, Will understood that Jada had lived through a more challenging time than he understood. He realized she was a powerful and intelligent woman, full of empathy and compassion.
He noted, "When you've been with someone for more than half of your life, a sort of emotional blindness sets in, and you can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties."
