Suzanne Somers' pal received the singer-actress' final words to her before her death.

Somers established close relationships with her costars throughout her active career years. One of her closest pals was Sue Cameron, who met her in 1975. After the "Three's Company" star's passing, Cameron revealed the content of the final email she received from her pal in April.

Cameron recently shared the email with People and sat for an exclusive interview during which she detailed Somers' decision to continue working despite her health issues.

According to the "Hollywood Secrets and Scandals" author, the late star spoke about her cancer journey to her in the email.

"I never dreamed aging would be responsible for being unable to walk. I told [my husband] Alan [Hamel] last night that I probably should get a cane but then I would feel 'old.' See even now I can't say 'old,'" Somers reportedly wrote. "I've found gratitude by filling my brain with positives."

Somers also said that being sick made her realize that his life was a great gift.

Cameron applauded her friend for being a proud survivor who managed to continue working before creating another empire.

"She did American Graffiti, and the picture of her in that car in American Graffiti got her everything." Cameron continued. "When she got Three's Company, she exploded as a star, and she really was the one."

Cameron called John Ritter an extremely talented actor, but she noted that Somers was the breakout star.

Somers was fired from "Three's Company" amid the show's success after she attempted to ask for a pay raise. She originally received $30,000 per episode but requested $150,000 because that was what Ritter and other male stars received.

She found it difficult to find another work after being fired from the show, and it took her years to find her spot in the acting industry again.

Amid those career struggles, Somers also dealt with health issues - from hyperplasia to skin and breast cancer - but did not let them get to her. She ultimately died a day before what would have been her 77th birthday.
