The controversial rapper Kanye West's Italian performance has been cancelled owing to a train strike and poor weather.

MailOnline revealed that West was scheduled to perform in Reggio Emilia's outdoor arena on Friday, and the event's organizers had been in discussions with the local government about it all last week.

Originally scheduled for October 20, it was postponed due to the anticipated attendance of 100,000 supporters and a planned train strike for the Italian network.

The open-air venue ran the risk of turning into a mud bath without shelter due to the forecasted heavy rain on Friday evening in the area.

The organizers said, "Our aim to ensure the safety and security of all and if there is a transport issue then the concert cannot go ahead safely and as it is open air the heavy rain forecast would have also created problems."

They added, "the organisers have been given an alternative date of October 27 and we are waiting to hear back if it is acceptable to them."

The alternative date of October 27 has been provided to the organizers, and they are awaiting word on whether or not it is acceptable to them.

Since West has praised Adolf Hitler and Nazism, local veterans' groups are upset that the performance is even being advertised, therefore security is expected to be tight.

Last year, West made a startling statement in an interview,"Every human being has something of value they brought to the table, especially Hitler. I love Jewish people, but I also love Nazis. There's a lot of things that I love about Hitler, a lot of things, I like Hitler, I am a Nazi."

West's comments corroborated earlier allegations that the musician had praised Hitler and made several antisemitic remarks within the previous five years, paying at least two settlements to former employees who claim he made such remarks in the workplace, according to former business and music industry sources who spoke to CNN and NBC this fall.

But as more than a dozen sources who knew West well claim to Rolling Stone, his claimed fixation with Hitler and the Nazis predates earlier rumors. They assert that West has been talking openly about his adoration for Hitler and the accomplishments of Nazi Germany for almost 20 years, calling it a well-known but closely-guarded secret inside the rapper's closest group.
