Megan Thee Stallion vs 1501 Entertainment Lawsuit Finally Settled – How?

Megan Thee Stallion's longstanding legal headache, her lawsuit against her former label, 1501 Entertainment, has finally reached a settlement.

The "Traumazine" rapper has been very outspoken about the issue in the past because of how confined she was with the demands of the contract which disables her to make necessary business moves to advance her career.

For those who do not know, Megan Thee Stallion sued her former label, 1501 Entertainment for allegedly giving out an unfair record deal for young artists like her that were "well-below industry standards." (via Rolling Stone)

She has since described the deal to be "unconscionable." In 2019, she signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation, where she claims to have met "real lawyers" who helped her see how unfair the deal was.

Since her legal dispute with the label, the legal headaches snowballed, even resulting in another dispute that concerned her album, "Something For Thee Hotties," not being qualified as an album that should have fulfilled her contractual obligations with the music label.

She also contested this - which then prompted the release of her next album, "Traumazine," which she claimed to have been leaked by the same music label to sabotage her. "Traumazine" did not fare well commercially.

Now, Megan Thee Stallion and 1501 Entertainment have finally reached an amicable deal that would put an end to the whole affair.

According to Billboard, both Megan Thee Stallion and 1501 Entertainment have "mutually reached a confidential settlement to resolve their legal differences." In the settlement, both parties will "amicably part ways."

"Both Megan and 1501 are pleased to put this matter behind them and move forward with the next chapter of their respective businesses," the label said in the statement.

1501 Entertainment President Carl Crawford, who also infamously had a confusing heated exchange with the "Savage" rapper, wished Megan "her very best in her life and career" in the same statement.

According to the publication, this settlement could mark the start of a "heated competition" among other record labels to sign the Grammy-winning rapper. Megan has since reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts with the help of Beyonce for "Savage," and Cardi B for "WAP."
