There has been a strong connection between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
However, the doting matriarch Donna Kelce wants her son and the "Karma" singer to take things slightly slower.
A close family friend commented to Life and Style magazine that although they don't necessarily disapprove, they hope Taylor takes some time to think before continuing her courtship with Travis.
"Donna [Kelce] isn't against Taylor dating Travis," said the source.
Compared to her past dalliances, this relationship is the most visible one for a Grammy Award-winning performer, and it's a novel experience for her fans.
In particular, fans enjoy being able to follow 33-year-old Taylor's romance with her ex-beau Joe Alwyn, 32, a stark distinction from the extreme secrecy observed during their six years together.
An insider said, "Donna believes their connection should grow naturally without any intrusive or overwhelming spotlight."
Though the exact moment Taylor Swift and NFL star first came into contact is not known, the singer made her presence felt at his September 24 Kansas City Chiefs game in Missouri.
"Shout-out to Taylor for pulling up. That was pretty balls," Travis said during his "New Heights" podcast. "I just thought it was awesome how everyone in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her. The friends and family. She looked amazing; everybody talked about her in a great light."
At the sporting event, Donna and Taylor were seen conversing.
In a later interview, Donna shared that the superstar had inquired about a particular football move during their conversation.
"I was talking about ... when the commercial people come out in the orange gloves, and they're on the field, I was mentioning when they go like this [makes gesture], the commercial's over, and they can play again," Donna revealed.
This past October, onlookers spotted the rumored couple of Taylor and Travis at the latter's game on the 12th, where his dad Ed Kelce also appeared.
Taylor and Travis have since enjoyed multiple outings, including two romantic dinners in New York City.
In addition, on "Saturday Night Live's" after-party following their respective cameos on the show, eyes were on them as they were reportedly very affectionate with each other throughout the night.
An observer noted that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift had a great connection, remarking, "It was clear that both of them were having a lot of fun."
"Even though some individuals wouldn't appreciate their parents' involvement in their relationship, it seemed to work for this couple."
