Did Taylor Swift write "Wildest Dream" after getting inspired by an actor?
Swift dropped "Wildest Dreams" as part of her fifth studio album, "1989," before she dropped "Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version)" in September 2021.
Amid Swift's romance with Travis Kelce, newly resurfaced rumors brought back an actor to the spotlight as Swifties believed that the singer wrote it about the celebrity.
Who Is Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams" About?
Celebrity hookup gossip site DeuxMoi reignited the rumors after claiming that Swift wrote "Wildest Dreams" while thinking about Alexander Skarsgård - with whom she had a brief connection with after starring together in the adaptation of "The Giver."
The duo worked together after her breakup with Conor Kennedy in October 2012. At that time, Daily Mail also shared photos of Swift dining with Skarsgård and Katie Holmes in South Africa.
The actor then revealed that they had jam sessions during breaks on the set, taking turns playing the piano and singing.
Meanwhile, fans in the comments section shared their thoughts and explanations about the buzz.
One said, "without a doubt. the movie set in africa, the dark wig like her character's, he definitely is "so tall and handsome as hell"... they were papped going out for dinner a couple of times but since it ended so soon, the GP forgot about it, but swifties? oh, they definitely remember."
"taylor and alex skarsgard WOULD be hot," one wrote, while another added, "Uh hello, 'he's so tall, and handsome as hell' 'tangled up with you all night.' Wildest Dreams is about him and she lets us know with video set in a film set in Africa. She and AS filmed the giver in South Africa."
Fans Initially Thought It Was About Harry Styles
Before Skarsgård's name emerged, Harry Styles' name was linked to the song due to the "hints" Swift gave.
In an interview, she described the song while also reflecting on her approach on relationships.
"I used to go into them thinking, 'Maybe this is the one - we'll get married and have a family, this could be forever.' Whereas now I go in thinking, 'How long do we have on the clock - before something comes along and puts a wrench in it, or your publicist calls and says this isn't a good idea?'" she told Rolling Stone.
However, she never confirmed nor denied the buzz.
