Cher's relationship with her boyfriend, Alexander "AE" Edwards, has sparked controversy due to their forty-year age gap; with some people finding it disturbing.
However, the "Believe" singer opened up about their relationship and explained how everything between them is great, however, they do struggle with one thing.
"Sometimes I'm talking to him and he has no idea who I'm talking about," Cher recalled. "The other day, I said, 'Do you know who, I don't know, Clark Gable, [is]?' Somebody said, 'Yes, of course,' but most of my references... He'll look at me and go, 'I wasn't born yet.'"
Despite the occasional blunder when it comes to references, Cher reassures everyone that she and AE are happy with their relationship, and that they actually have a lot of things to talk about.
"I hate to talk about how happy I am, but no, we have a great time together," the singer slash actress said during an interview.
"We can talk music. We can talk about everything. He's got a great sense of humor, he's got the cutest son in the world, ever... We just get each other."
Cher Addresses Age Gap Controversy
One thing Cher and AE have in common is their passion for music; and with the singer's long history as an artist and AE's talent for producing, they are essentially a music match made in heaven.
"He's a great producer," Cher previously said. "I let him do 'Drop Top Sleigh.' That's a hard thing to do when you are in love with someone and then you say, 'OK, here, take this record and do what you want with it.' But I had faith. And I was so thrilled."
She also gushed about how good-looking her boyfriend is. "Alexander's got diamond teeth, tattoos, white hair, and he's way younger. He's a beautiful man."
Cher's Boyfriend AE
According to reports, AE is a music executive. He and the singer began dating back in November 2022, and since then, they have been facing criticisms regarding their age gap.
The couple have also addressed it time and time again in several different and subtle ways, like when Cher wrote "Love doesn't know math" on Twitter.
"On paper, it's kind of ridiculous," Cher admitted. "But in real life, we get along great. He's fabulous. And I don't give men qualities that they don't deserve."
