Keith Lionel Urban was born on October 26, 1967 in Whangarei, New Zealand. Urban orginally hails from Australia, and moved to Nashville in the United States to pursue a career in country music. Urban's tale is a story of success, as he managed to succeed in pursuing a career in the country music scene in his own unique way.
At six years old, Keith Urban began to learn to play the guitar. Keith took guitar lessons while he was a kid. As a result, the musician went on to win many talent contests while he was in grade school.
How Keith Urban Started His Music Career
Keith Urban got his debut in the music business when he got signed on by the Australian subsidiary of EMI records, as per All Music. Under this record label, Urban released his debut album, and had many number one hits in Australia.
Not too long afterwards, though, Urban went on to pursue his dream of building a music career in America's country music capital, Nashville. Thus, Keith finally went ahead and moved to Tennesse's aforementioned city. After having dealt with a challenge in his music career debut in Nashville, Urban finally released his self-titled debut album from America's country music capital in 1999. This album yielded four hit singles, and ended up being the source of Urban's music career success in America.
Keith Urban Hits, Accomplishments, and Accolades
Urban released a 2002 follow-up album called, "Golden Road." It yielded three singles that reached the top spots of country charts, and were certified triple platinum in the United States. Urban's 2004 album, "Be Here" sold more than four million copies. Urban capped off his success by garnering a couple of Grammy nominations.
Keith Urban is Featured in the Upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix
Keith Urban is set to headline the all-genre bill leading of the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix next month, in November to debut the commencement of race event weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada. As per Taste of Country, Urban will be the sole country music musician to grace the event. The other artists who will be performing alongside Urban are Andra Day, Bishop Briggs, J. Balvin, Journey, Steve Aoki, Swedish House Mafia, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and will.i.am.
