The new "Thriller 40" documentary honors Michael Jackson's iconic album Thriller, which was released more than 40 years ago. The trailer is finally here!

Thriller 40 features never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage of the classic being made, and has interviews with Usher, Mary J. Blige, will.i.am, Mark Ronson, Misty Copeland, Maxwell, John Landis, the director of the "Thriller" video, and more.

Jackson's sixth studio album, Thriller, was released on November 30, 1982.

It produced seven top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including two No. 1s, "Beat It" and "Billie Jean." Apart from garnering eight Grammy awards, the album has received 34 platinum certifications from the RIAA and has sold over 100 million copies globally, making it the best-selling album in history.

Thriller 40 will stream on Paramount+ (for Paramount+ With Showtime members) and make its Showtime debut on December 2 at 8 p.m. ET. On the same day, the movie will also premiere globally on Paramount+ in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Latin America, and South Korea.

it will also premiere internationally on MTV, with the exception of China and Japan. Nelson George directed the movie, which was co-produced by Company Name and Optimum Productions. Producers are Colin Hanks, Sean Stuart, and co-executors of the Jackson estate, John Branca and John McClain.

The teaser for Thriller begins with journalist Steven Ivory saying, "There are two things in the music business: before Thriller and after Thriller."

The album's making, its music videos, Michael Jackson's Moonwalk (which he first performed at the Motown 25 special in 1983), and the project's ultimate global dominance are all covered in the trailer. According to will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas, "it's the ultimate blueprint to modern pop music," in the video. "Thriller would still be the best album ever recorded even if it were released today."

When "Thriller" was first released on November 30, 1982, it became an enormous commercial hit. On January 31, 1983, it became platinum, and by 1984, it had gained 20 times platinum status.

It is currently the best-selling album of all time, having sold almost 67 million copies worldwide and going 34 times platinum.

Additionally, Jackson broke through the color barrier on MTV with the release of "Billie Jean." The music video for the song was the channel's debut feature by a Black artist. "Thriller 40" offers both fresh content and a trip down memory lane for Jackson fans.
