After months of speculation, the whispers regarding possible romantic relationships between singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift and her close female friends may have been laid to rest.

The "Style" hitmaker has finally made a statement addressing these rumors.

Taylor Swift explains how her decision to associate with women exclusively came after she realized that hanging out with men inevitably led people to assume that they were a couple.

This was seen as unacceptable, and so the "1989 (Taylor's Version)" album prologue focuses on the idea of her strictly socializing with females.

According to the leaks, which went viral on social media, Taylor wrote, "And I swore off hanging out with guys. Dating, flirting, or anything that could be weaponized against me by a culture that claimed to believe in liberating women but consistently treated me with the harsh moral codes of the Victorian era."

Deciding to take matters into her own hands, the "Anti-Hero" singer strove to alter the public's perception of her. As an optimist, she posited that by shifting her behavior, a more positive story could be spun. Unfortunately, this backfired.

"If I only hung out with my female friends, people couldn't sensationalize or sexualize that, right? I would learn later on that people could and people would."

The rumor that 33-year-old singer Taylor Swift is queer keeps resurfacing, and the artist herself always commented on it.

During an interview with Vogue in September 2019, Swift denied that her song "Me!" was her way of hinting at being part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Taylor also recently spoke to a magazine about her desire to create an inspirational work of art during political unrest.

In her own words, she saw that rights were being taken away from people who did not fit into one specific category. Additionally, she expressed how it was only recently that she realized she could stand up and defend those who were not like her.

"It's hard to know how to do that without being so fearful of making a mistake that you just freeze. Because my mistakes are very loud. When I make a mistake, it echoes through the world's canyons."

Back in 2014, when Taylor Swift released her "Red" album, rumors quickly began swirling that she and Dianna Agron had a romantic connection.

With Taylor dedicating one of her songs on that album to the former "Glee" star, it wasn't a surprise.

However, by the time "1989" was released two years later their relationship seemingly cooled off.

When questioned about it at that time, Taylor divulged that she wanted to create something positive during such a politically charged era, and their friendship was simply platonic all along - something which Dianna has constantly denied since then.

Taylor Swift and Dianna Agron are vocal advocates for the LGBTQIA+ community, but neither has ever declared openly about their relationships.

Currently, Taylor is dating NFL star Travis Kelce, and they appear to be very much in love.
