Matthew Perry's memoir outshined Britney Spears' book following his death.

Spears dropped her memoir "The Woman in Me" on October 24, and immediately became the top-selling book a day after its release. According to the "Toxic" singer, she had sold over 400,000 copies on the release day alone, and it is expected that it will sell over one million copies in total, at least.

Matthew Perry's Book Outshines "The Woman in Me"

Following Perry's death, his book "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir" knocked Spears' memoir from the Amazon's top spot.

The book, released in 2022, scored the spotlight again after the news that the "Friends" singer was found unresponsive in a jacuzzi - and was later declared dead - emerged.

In an interview with Radar, Amazon Books' communications manager revealed that the hardcover version of Perry's book became no. 1 of the Best Sellers in Books.

"Matthew Perry's memoir is currently #1 (hardcover) and #5 (Paperback)," the manager said, adding that the platform will sell a paperback format on March 12, 2024.

The news came after the "Everytime" singer confirmed in a since-deleted post that there would be "The Woman in Me" Part 2.

Matthew Perry Dead at 54

A news outlet, which cited law enforcement sources, confirmed that Perry was found unresponsive in a bathtub of a Los Angeles home. The Los Angeles Fire Department soon responded to a 911 call regarding a water rescue emergency.

"We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother," the family said. "Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love," his family said in a statement to People.

Authorities clarified that no foul play was involved in his death and no drugs were found at the scene. Meanwhile, other sources said Perry played pickleball for two hours earlier that day.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner deferred Matthew Perry's cause of death after the autopsy on October 29. Sources said that the toxicology results are also pending.

Perry endured decades of struggles caused by his drug and alcohol addictions, which started after a jet ski accident in 1997.
