Miley Cyrus has been a yoga practitioner for almost a lifetime
. Occasionally, she will post a few jaw-dropping yoga poses on social media.
Now be ready to be in awe once more. The 30-year-old singer recently posted a monochrome video of herself practicing yoga on Instagram.
And she accomplishes all of this while deftly maintaining her balance on a paddleboard that floats in the ocean adjacent to a stunning tropical setting.
The song "Island" by her is playing in the background.
The entire video is a striking and beautiful workout. Miley starts with a twisting lunge, one arm in the air, and then slowly transitions into a plank, which is a really strong upper arm and core pose. She then lowers herself using a tricep pushup and raises herself into a cobra stance, which will train your biceps and triceps. Miley then does an upward dog and a second lunging twist.
She completes the action by kneeling, raising her arms in the air, gripping her paddle, and then moving once again. "'So close to heaven but so far from everyone' Grateful for this #Island & the abundant magic she shared with us ," Miley wrote in the caption.
While a bit worrying, it's not really harmful. Otherwise, her fans would not ask her to do more. Commenters encouraged her on social media. One fan remarked, "Does everybody know how f-ing hard this is to do?"
Another said, "MC yoga posts will ALWAYS be iconic." Are you curious in how Miley learned these yoga poses so well? She's had a lot of experience, though. The vocalist of "Midnight Sky" has previously been transparent about her passion for yoga.
She admitted to Jimmy Fallon in 2016 that she had been practicing for years. She specializes in Ashtanga yoga, which is a vigorous form that emphasizes breathing in sync with movement. Ashtanga yoga can occasionally be quite uninspired, the instructor saying things like, 'Oh, don't worry, that's just going to take you 10 years [to achieve],' and you're like, 'Wait, what?'"
Yet Miley's exercise regimen consists of more than just yoga. In the song video for "Flowers," she treated her fans to a BTS preview of the remaining exercises.
Like a total boss, she sailed through burpees, combat ropes, Spiderman crawls, bridges, step-ups with a resistance band, and more.
