Halle Bailey and DDG dressed up as Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown for Halloween, and netizens cannot help but chuckle and cringe at the irony.
According to reports, the couple re-created Houston and Brown's red carpet picture at the Billboard Music Awards, as well as several other pictures. They also dressed up as Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur.
However, despite what seems the "The Little Mermaid" star and her rapper boyfriend are trying to portray, netizens expressed their concern on social media.
"We know how that ended," one wrote.
"Who's gonna tell them?" Another added.
Others reacted more negatively towards the couple's outfit, as many were already "sick and tired" of them. "When are they gonna break up?"
While there were some who defended Bailey from the haters: "Lol I love how she subliminally said she's crazy in love and to mind y'all business."
Is Halle Bailey Pregnant?
The criticisms and backlash towards Bailey and DDG began when rumors circulated that DDG was problematic.
According to reports, DDG was not supportive of the singer and her film. He even accused the singer slash actress of cheating on him with her "The Little Mermaid" co-star in a song.
"Filmin' a movie now you kissing dudes / You know I love you a lot / I don't give a f-ck if that sh-t for promo / I don't wanna see this sh-t no more... "Why is y'all holdin' hands in the photo? / You know I'm insecure, that's a no-no," he raps in a song titled "Maybe It's Me."
Several months after releasing the song, rumors were circulating that Bailey was pregnant with DDG's baby.
Netizens were outraged and felt like Bailey needed to break up with the rapper once and for all, however, it does not seem like she will any time soon.
