Whenever fans go to concerts, they expect the artists to start on time regardless of any situation as they paid for tickets to see their favorite musicians perform live. However, legendary rapper Lauryn Hill has been late a couple of times to her shows, which made her defend herself why her concerts do not start on time.
According to Uproxx, the hip-hop artist is in the middle of her "The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary Tour" to celebrate the success of her album which won a Grammy decades ago.
There were some attendees who were not happy with Hill's recent tardiness as the shows would start late because of her.
Over the weekend, the musician took the stage of the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, where she finally addressed why she's always late.
At the time of her speech, she was joined by her mom, who celebrated her birthday, and her children.

"Yo, y'all are lucky I make it to this bloodclot stage every night. I leave my soul on this stage. And I don't do it because they let me do it," she said.
She further explained that the reason why she's late because God allows her to do it.
"He surrounded me with family and community when there was no support. When the album sold so many records and no one showed up and said, 'Hey, would you like to make another one... We're survivors. Not just survivors, we're thrivers," she added.
Lauryn Hill Deemed As 'Rude' and 'Ungrateful'
Following her speech, videos of her went viral on social media and fans weren't too happy about her explanation.
"saying people are 'lucky' as if it's not their hard earned money used to pay you is so rude and ungrateful," one wrote.
"that's so unprofessional bruh people literally paid money to see you and you can't just do your job and be on time?" another one noted.
One user noted that Lauryn Hill might have influenced so many artists in the present, but she should be grateful and lucky that people are still attending her shows given that her last hit was in 1999.
As of this writing, Hill has yet to address the comments about her online.
