Jelly Roll might be taking a break from the online world and performing, but he couldn't resist kind-hearted people who attended his toy drive for a charity event.

According to Taste of Country, the country singer held a pop-up show at the parking lot of a local Walmart in his hometown over the weekend. The impromptou concert is completely free as fans only had to donate toys to his 2023 toy drive.

Local network NewsChannel 5 Nashville WTVF reported that there were hundreds of attendees after the singer took to social media and announced that he would be performing for free to those who donated.

There were people who came from different parts of the United States and traveled to the area not just to watch Jelly Roll sing his hit songs, but also donate some toys.

"Let's make this holiday season a special one for the kids!" he initially wrote on social media.

To make the charity event possible, Jelly Roll teamed up with Hasbro, Coca-Cola and Metro Nashville.

Why Did Jelly Roll Perform For Free?

During his performance, he addressed the crowd and explained that the reason why he decided to hold a toy drive was because he wanted to give back to the community, especially in the area of Antioch.

He added that children in his hometown were a personal cause to him as he grew up in the same location.

Prior to the event, Jelly Roll requested Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell to come and many people were surprised to see him attending the event.

He also took online to express his gratitude about the matter, writing, "Thanks for kicking off the biggest toy drive in Nashville history. And for giving back so much and celebrating Antioch."

Jelly Roll on Social Media Break

The recent news comes a few weeks after the musician took to his official Instagram account to announce that he will be putting his phone away until the end of the year in order to focus on himself and his family after touring for a couple of months.

In the post, the singer reflected his time on tour, saying he was on the road for over 80 days and he also had some charity visits such as spending time at 10 jails or Juveniles and rehabilitation centers.

Although he was happy and even emotional whenever he goes up on stage to perform in front of thousands of people, he also noted that he got exhausted from all of his shows and he wanted to rest, that's why he's getting off social media and his phone.
