Taylor Swift just arrived in Argentina for the Latin American leg of her highly successful "The Eras" tour, and she was not only welcomed by her fans but by the news media as well.
As per Pop Base, a pop culture account on X (formerly known as Twitter), the Argentinian news followed the "Anti-Hero" singer from the airport to her car and down the highway, broadcasting the entire thing live on national television.
The news, however, was met with dissatisfied and angry fans who called out the country's news media for broadcasting Swift' whereabouts and the vehicle she was riding on the way to her accommodations.
"So Argentina doesn't care about her safety whatsoever - cool, got it," a fan wrote.
"Give her a little space, she just got there," another added.
"Is this not kind of weird and invasive?"
"That's too close for comfort."
Taylor Swift's Argentinian Swifties Fight Back
One of the comments under the tweet garnered the ire of the Argentinian Swifities, who clapped back, showing a myriad of pictures and videos, as well as headlines of the "Love Story" singer being bombarded by fans and stalkers in the United States.
It included a video of Swifties camping outside a bar where Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley held their engagement party at, which was attended by the singer.
"If you don't know about our culture you can't give your opinion, she is safe and they are just fans trying to see the most famous woman in the world," one wrote, defending the Argentinian press.
"We're not a violent country, guns are not available and it's a work day. She's fine."
"Don't worry. Argentina different from the US, has gun control and all.
Even children can go to school without worrying about being shot to death. Taylor is perfectly fine," another added.
Argentina Welcomes Taylor Swift
Swift is embarking on the second leg of her "The Eras" tour, which will begin in Argentina before proceeding to several other countries in Latin America.
According to reports, Swifties have been camping out near Buenos Aires' AR's River Plate Stadium so they can be closer to the stage, as the floor tickets do not have seats.
Swift will be performing in Argentina for three consecutive nights: Nov. 9, 10, and 11, with special guest Sabrina Carpenter.
