Taylor Swift has been triggering an economic boost since starting her Eras Tour.

Swift has been enjoying the spotlight more after starting her hit tour this year. The Forbes' second-richest self-made woman in the U.S. is expected to earn more as she extends her more than 140 concerts until next year.

How Taylor Swift Gives an Economic Boost Explained

Question Pro found out in a study that Swifties have spent around $5 billion already to see and support Swift.

For example, Swift's two Pittsburgh concerts generated $46 million as 83 percent of the attendees came from outside Alleghany County. The state also recorded a 95 percent increase in hotel room occupancy, seeing a 106 percent increase in daily room rates.

"She's a very talented performer, but a smart businesswoman at the same time," Northeastern University associate professor of public policy and urban affairs and economics said.

Meanwhile, Alice Enders - a music industry analyst at Enders Analysis and a former senior economist at the World Trade Organization - explained that people have been itching for a post-pandemic experience, leading more fans to attend the shows.

"We are in an experience economy where people crave going out and participating in social events," Enders said. "It's no surprise that people are flocking to this Eras Tour experience in what is increasingly an otherwise digital environment we live in."
