Blake Shelton opened up about his wife, Gwen Stefani, and the changes he noticed since marrying her.
Shelton and Stefani exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in a small chapel that the former "The Voice" coach built in his Oklahoma ranch. The pair started dating in November 2015 after their first meeting on the singing competition show and engaged five years later.
Blake Shelton Sees Different Side of Gwen Stefani After Marrying Her
Speaking with E!, Shelton revealed that there has been a major change in his wife since they started spending more time in Oklahoma after their wedding in 2021.
According to the "Neon Light" hitmaker, he would not say that the 54-year-old has become a "country girl." Rather, he started seeing the side of her he had never seen before.
"I think country music has kind of given her a chance to show what an incredible vocalist she is and an incredible songwriter," he said, adding that he would like to work with Stefani on music more because he "needs" that.
Shelton's comment resonated with what Stefani's pals said one month after their wedding.
At that time, her friends said they barely recognized her because Stefani started fully embracing country life in the state.
"It's not just the jeans and boots that she's wearing," the friend says. "She's cooking him his favorite Southern meals, like biscuits and gravy, and would rather have a barbecue than dinner at a fancy restaurant."

Blake Shelton Comments on Gwen Stefani's "The Voice" Return
While Shelton scored more time to spend in his Oklahoma ranch, his wife does not have the same as she returned to "The Voice" for the new season.
He told Jimmy Kimmel he wanted more time with Stefani, but the wife reportedly believes "money talks in this industry."
"I think I'd actually put out there to the press too because everybody wants to know, 'Why are you quitting? Why are you walking away from the show?' And it's like, 'Well, for the family, for more family time,'" he said during his "Jimmy Kimmel Live" appearance. "And then the very next announcement is, 'Gwen's coming back!'"
Shelton officially announced his exit in October 2022 after 12 years on the show.
