Matty Healy is facing yet another controversy following his issues over the past few months as he recently commended Kanye West and even considered him as a hero.
The 1975 had a concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Wednesday evening and the frontman made some remarks about not being nominated for the 2024 Grammy Awards.
"The fact that we didn't get nominated for a Grammy was a f****** outrage," he said. Fans appeared to have agreed with his sentiments as they started cheering after his rant. (via Page Six)
Healy added that the reason the public don't react that way because it's "not a very tasteful thing to say," but he considers himself as "past tasteful."
Although the Manchester-raised musician clarified that he doesn't really care that much about the nominations, he believed that two of The 1975's previous albums— "I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of it" and "A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships."

Further into his rant, the singer praised controversial artist Kanye West and he even considers him as one of his heroes.
"I'm not being self-celebratory, but Kanye is one of my heroes... You know what? You've got to f****** believe in yourself," he told the audience.
At this point, fans weren't happy with his remarks as they started booing once West's name was involved, but Healy acknowledged that the rapper is an "awkward hero to have right now."
"But separate the antisemitism, just think about the self-belief," he clarified.
Matty Healy Previously Condemned Kanye West
In a previous interview on "The Adam Friedland Show," the singer/songwriter condemned Kanye West's actions.
At the time, Matty Healy said the rapper is someone who is dealing with grief and has been suffering from mental health issues, but regardless, it shouldn't be an excuse for antisemitism.
Even though it could be an art form sometimes as he likened it to Kaufman and Warhol in terms of boundaries, West's situation is completely different as he crossed the line.
