Adam Lambert paid tribute to Freddie Mercury when he played the final shows of Queen + Adam Lambert's North American tour.
Queen + Adam Lambert launched their 22-show North American Tour as part of their 2023 Rhapsody Tour. It marked the collaboration's first tour in four years, which they launched in October.
Adam Lambert Remembers Freddie Mercury
Over the weekend, Lambert played the final two shows of their North American leg alongside Brian May and Roger Taylor. He also offered a heartfelt speech to their attendees at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif., paying tribute to Mercury, who died in 1991.
"Just know that every time I get up here, I know that I'm f------ lucky," Lambert continued. "I know how much of an honor this is. And be assured that every time I take the stage, I have one person in my heart: Freddie Mercury! You love Freddie too, right? That's what this is, this is a celebration of Freddie and Queen."
After remembering Mercury, he went on to perform Queen's hit track, "Don't Stop Me Now."
Although Lambert has been serving as a singer on Queen's tour, Mercury's bandmates decided not to hire him or anyone to become a permanent replacement. Instead, they added the vocalists' names to the band's banner whenever Queen collaborated with someone.

On the other hand, May and Taylor hinted at Queen's official tribute band - called Queen Extravaganza. They tapped Nick Radcliffe for guitar, George Farrar for drums, François-Olivier Doyon for bass and Gareth Taylor and Alirio Netto for vocals.
The tribute band has since confirmed the 2024 tour dates, starting in February.
