When Harry Styles debuted his newly shaved head to the world, it was met with shock and criticism; however, his mother came to his resume-or did she?
"When you consider that [Harry] has a legacy of kindness and inclusion, has always made every effort to make everyone feel seen and appreciated for exactly who they are," Anne Twist, the Grammy Award-winning singer's mother, wrote in an Instagram post.
"There's an irony in the negativity he's been shown for having a haircut. Sorry, but I don't get it," she added with the TPWK (Treat People with Kindness) hashtag.
However, what was supposed to be a sign of support for the "As It Was" singer was met with backlash online which only seemed to fuel the fans' ire.
Harry Styles' Mother Faces Backlash From Fans
Fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express their frustrations with Twist and her new post.
"Someone said, 'Now I know why he doesn't follow her,'" a fan wrote.
"Anne just made it 10 times [worse] for him. Like if she would have just [shut the f**k up]," another added.
"Imagine pushing FORTIES and your mom has to pull up and defend you on [the] Internet."
"Boy moms are so..."
Harries-Styles' fandom name-began the heated debate about his shaved head a week ago, but it seems like it has escalated and become some sort of Internet meme or an inside joke among fans.
Harry Styles' Shaved Head
The "Watermelon Sugar" singer was spotted during one of U2's concerts at The Sphere for their Las Vegas residency with his girlfriend Taylor Russell.
The picture was shared through the gossip account, Deuxmoi, and it went viral; a week later, Styles debuted his new haircut through an Instagram post on his beauty brand, Pleasing.
Harries made fun of the singer in the comments: "Our founder, Harry Styles, will finally show you his bald head."
"Well what did you bring Harry, NO HAIR," another added.
"A part of me loves it, a part of me is crying on my bedroom floor."
While Styles' new hairstyle definitely shocked some fans, many seem to not really care too much about it.
"It was never that serious," one wrote.
"'It was never that serious' yet y'all go spam his DMs and comment section with hate.. yeah I think it's time y'all get a grip," one replied.
Meanwhile, others claim that Twist only made the issue "bigger than it was."
