Following his daughter Ana Clara Benevides' untimely death on Friday while attending a Taylor Swift "Eras" tour concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, her father has called for an extensive investigation into what happened.
He suggested that those responsible should be held accountable and "someone will be punished."
At 23, tragedy struck for a young woman named Ana.
She had been to the Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos stadium in Rio when she suddenly collapsed due to overwhelmingly hot temperatures.
Subsequent reports indicated that she suffered a cardiac arrest and was taken to hospital, but unfortunately, she could not be saved - with her cause of death still yet to be revealed.
Ana's Dad Speaks Out
Weiny Machado, the 53-year-old father of the late Ana, has expressed to Folha de São Paulo newspaper (via The Mirror) his deep wish for a proper inquiry into the events that led to her death. He desires to discover precisely what occurred before Ana's passing.
Machado said, "I want it to be found out whether they were prohibited from bringing water, whether there was negligence in assisting."
The father said, "I know that the singer was handing out water to her fans, and that is absurd for an event of this size. Nothing will bring my daughter back, but I hope that, if negligence is confirmed, someone will be punished so that this doesn't happen to anyone else."
The words of Weiny further convey the depth of his loss - he said that Ana had "left for a dream but came back dead."
Speaking further to Folha de São Paulo newspaper, Machado described Ana as "happy" with an "intelligence" promising a potential future.
"I have no words to express my pain. She left home to fulfill a dream and came back dead."

Taylor Swift 'Eras' Tour Brazil Concert Organizer's Statement
In light of tragic events, Taylor Swift postponed her concert on Saturday night in Rio.
T4F, or Time For Fun, the gig organizers released a statement regarding Ana's death before this decision was made.
T4F received criticism due to accusations that water wasn't permitted inside the stadium but later declared new policies, per The Mirror.
They said: "Due to the predicted high temperatures throughout the city, we are reinforcing our action plan for the show's opening day. This includes free water distribution at multiple locations within and outside of the stadium. By doing this, everyone attending will have easy access to hydration."
"Entry into the stadium with sealed glasses of water and sealed processed food will also be permitted, with no limitation on items per person. We clarify that the requirement for items to be sealed follows safety recommendations."
"We also emphasize that the prohibition of bottles of water entering stadiums is a requirement made by public bodies and that we do not sell drinks and food, this being the responsibility of the stadium administration."
