Patrick Mahomes Says Taylor Swift Was 'Not A Distraction' For Best Friend Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's romance has taken over both the music and sports industry essentially filling both the internet and television outlets with the rather sensational relationship that has everyone wanting and needing more.

However, up until now, many, at least for Football fans, are still convinced that Swift is a distraction for the NFL superstar.

Kelce, playing as a tight end at the Kansas City Chiefs, is primed to take his team to the Super Bowl again this year. Despite all the criticism of Kelce's head on the game, his best pal, the Chiefs' quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, has publicly vouched for him.

Patrick Mahomes Vouch For Travis Kelce

Speaking to ESPN about his best friend's romance with global pop star Taylor Swift, Patrick Mahomes dismissed the idea that the singer was a distraction for Travis Kelce.

"I've been lucky enough to meet Taylor and see how good of a person she is," Mahomes told the outlet. "I think you can understand why it's not become a distraction or anything like that because everybody cares about being the best they can be every day."

When pressed whether he would be watching "The Eras" Tour anytime soon, Mahomes had this to say.

"We'll see when we get to the off-season, maybe I'm traveling to Europe to go to a concert or something."

Notably, Patrick Mahomes' wife has been recently added to Taylor Swift's elite circle of friends. Brittany Mahomes even reportedly wanted to link up "Game of Thrones" actress Sophie Turner with one of the Chiefs players after her bitter divorce from Joe Jonas. (via Today)

Elsewhere in the interview, Mahomes was asked whether the buzz of the Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift relationship felt bigger than winning two Super Bowl championships.

"I don't think it feels any different," he mused. "People see the whole Taylor Swift and Travis [thing] and they make it a huge deal because it is a huge deal. I think it becomes a bigger deal to the fan bases than it does to the guys who are actually in the building."
