Host Skip Bayless has weighed in on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's brief romance, raising concerns about the sincerity of the pop star's affections for the Super Bowl victor.
Swift and her father Scott are fans of Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs, who will play his brother Jason's Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.
This is expected to be a significant turn in the couple's brief affair. Swift performed in Buenos Aires last weekend, and Kelce took advantage of his bye week to come to Argentina to see her.
Following the event, Swift was spotted approaching Kelce and planting a kiss on him, which most people considered endearing. However, Bayless isn't having any of it, and this week he laid out just why.
He expressed his heartfelt wish that her connection with Travis Kelce is genuine, not just for their benefit but also for his.
He explained that from a distance, Travis Kelce has genuine feelings for her. But is hers his?
The host even said that Swift is such a megastar that it is clear she cares a great deal about her appearance. She is just terribly conscious of being on camera, which puts her in constant danger of playing a role while she is.
She is aware that she is constantly being filmed as she watches her husband Travis play football from a stadium box.
The host called Swift 'phony and stagey' when she's up in the box.
With regard the romantic scenes in Argentina, Bayless said; 'Travis on his bye week flew down.
She obviously knew she was on camera. You see her running toward Travis, all but jumping in his arms, embracing him, giving a big, exaggerated kiss."
"It just seemed a little scripted to me. Just a little put on. Just a little fake. I could be wrong. But is she using this all-time fairytale romance to plug into NFL-sized publicity and promotion? I hope not, but I do wonder."

Even though Swift is hardly the only one who has questioned whether the relationship is a publicity act, Bayless is by no means the only one.
Before returning to South America for her wildly popular Eras tour, she supported him at four separate games in September and October.
