Shortly after being hit with a rape and sex trafficking lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, Diddy seems to be down in the dumps about everything that happened over the weekend.
According to TMZ, the rapper was spotted with his head in his hands in his Star Island mansion in Miami, looking "solemn."
Netizens found the entire report, as well as the accompanying pictures, suspicious, and even alleged that it might be staged-especially since Diddy seems to be looking into cleaning his slate right after being accused of rape and sex trafficking.
"Diddy waited 30 YEARS to "generously" give his artists their masters but it took him only 24 HOURS to settle with Cassie?" A netizen wrote.
"Diddy wasn't generous, he was conniving. Those legal rights came with an NDA. Something I've never heard of," another added.
As per reports, Diddy might be in a hurry because aside from his music career, he also happens to have a lot of business ventures and he is also involved in charity work.
Cassie Files Lawsuit Against Diddy
According to reports, R&B artist Cassie, born Cassandra Ventura, filed a legal case against Diddy, alleging that he raped, abused, and even trafficked her several years ago.
"After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story," Cassie wrote in a statement, she alleged the abuse began when she was 19 and he was 37, and it lasted over 10 years.
The rapper allegedly "plied the vulnerable [Cassie] with drugs and alcohol, causing her to fall into dangerous addictions that controlled her life."
The lawsuit did not last long because the rapper immediately settled it within hours after Diddy claimed Cassie was only extorting him.
Eventually, a joint statement was released, noting that the singer "decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control."
Diddy Faces Backlash Online
Following the lawsuit and the speedy settlement, came the backlash from netizens. In fact, it did not only come from people from the Internet but fellow artist Kesha as well.
Kesha's song "Tik Tok" included Diddy's name in the first verse, however, after the allegations, she changed the lyrics.
"Oh, she is so iconic. we need to start holding these men accountable," one wrote.
"She knows all too well," another added, referring to Kesha's lawsuit against her former producer, Dr. Luke.
