Morgan Wallen is one of the biggest and most controversial country music stars in 2023, but despite his massive wins at the Billboard Music Awards and music charts, the Recording Academy snubbed him.
According to reports, the 2023 Billboard Music Awards was a huge night for the "Last Night" singer, who won 11 microphone-shaped trophies for top country artist, top Hot 100 artist, top male artist, and more.
However, despite his numerous wins, Wallen is yet to reach the Grammy Award-Nominated level-why?
Morgan Wallen Takes Charge of Music Charts
According to Billboard, the country singer enjoyed a successful year; with each music release, he topped the music charts and broke several records while he was at it.
His album "One Thing at a Time" spent 16 weeks at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200, while his hit song "Last Night" was a mainstay on the Billboard Hot 100 for 16 nonconsecutive weeks.
Meanwhile, during the last Country Music Awards, Wallen failed to bring home any awards or recognitions.
During his acceptance speech, he alluded to the CMAs as well as the Grammy snub: "Like the song says, 'You win some, you lose some.'
"The last awards show I went to, we came home empty-handed. This one, I don't have enough hands for them all. So either way, I promise I'm gonna stay the same, whether we come home with 10 or zero. I'm gonna give y'all my all, every single night and every time I go into the studio. ... All these awards are really, it's for my fans. So thank you guys so much."

Morgan Wallen Controversy
As per reports, "Last Night" earned a Country Song of the Year nod at the Grammys, however, the award reportedly goes to the songwriters, John Byron, Ashley Gorley, Jacob Kasher Hindlin & Ryan Vojtesak.
There might be a reason why Wallen has been shadow-banned of these awards shows: his racial slur controversy, which stems back to 2021.
According to reports, the singer was caught using a racial slur on camera in February of that year which earned the ire of netizens.
Wallen has since apologized for it and promised to meet Black leaders to become more educated on the issues regarding his actions; he also pledged to donate $500,000 to organizations led by Black people.
