BTS might currently be on a hiatus, but they are keeping their fans busy with new releases left and right; the KPOP group just announced their upcoming documentary seies, "Monuments: Beyond the Star."
According to reports, the seven-membered South Korean boy group has partnered up with Disney+ for their upcoming release, which is slated for Dec. 20.
Since it is a documentary series, two episodes will be released every Wednesday and will have a total of eight episodes; it will follow the journey of BTS from its inception to its current stardom.
BTS' 'Monuments: Beyond the Star'
BTS is composed of RM, the leader, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook; their label is BigHit Music, and despite their massive success now, both the artists and their label had humble beginnings.
All the members have been candid about their struggles as a group, as well as a KPOP act penetrating the Western market.
As per reports, the documentary series will follow their journey all the way from their "Danger" era all the way to their debut at the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and even the Grammy Awards.
Reports do not note, however, if there will be new insights gleaned from the upcoming release compared to their recent memoir, "Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS," by Kang Myeongseok.

BTS Takes a Hiatus
After years of releasing music and touring non-stop, BTS has decided to slow down and take time for themselves as well as the dreaded mandatory military enlistment among South Korean men.
Fans of BTS, who are called ARMYs, were both disappointed and relieved that the KPOP group would finally have time to rest and recuperate from their hectic schedules, however, they also feel sad that the group is currently on a hiatus until 2025.
Shortly before the hiatus was announced, though, BTS gave ARMYs something to look forward to: they promised that a reunion would surely come in two years and that new music would follow.
Sure enough, since the hiatus took place, several members have released their debut solo albums, like Jimin's "Face," V's "Layover," and Jungkook's "Golden."
"The group has definitely changed," RM said prior to the hiatus, and during their 10th year anniversary. "We have to accept that we've changed.
"After 'Butter' and 'Permission to Dance,' I didn't know what kind of group we were anymore."
They don't give you time to mature," RM added. "You have to keep producing music and keep doing something.
"I think that's why we're going through a rough patch right now - we're trying to find our identity and that's an exhausting and long process."
