It's been a year since Taylor Swift released her 10th studio album "Midnights" and Lana Del Rey was the only collaborator on the first version of the record for their track "Snow On The Beach."
However, when the song was finally released, some people were disappointed as they barely heard the alternative singer on the track and they thought she only used her voice as backing vocals.
A few months later, the "Karma" hitmaker dropped a new version of her album which featured a re-release version of her collaboration with Del Rey titled "Snow On The Beach (Feat. More Lana Del Rey) where the singer's voice is clear in the second verse. (via Billboard)
More recently the "Cherry Cola" songstress revealed in an interview that even though fans thought her voice wasn't clear in the first release, she clarified that she was all over the track; how did that happen?
Lana Del Rey Says She Was All Over the 1st Version of 'Snow on the Beach'
Del Rey recently spoke in a video interview with Harper's Bazaare released on Tuesday where she noted that the first iteration of the song had her voice all over it, and she explained the reason why fans didn't hear her that much.
She first noted that it was the exact song that Swift herself wanted her to feature in and for her personally, when she thinks someone's song is "perfect," she would act as a producer in the project.
Regarding why people barely heard her voice, she explained: "I can mimic almost anyone, so I am all over the first version of 'Snow on the Beach.' I layer and match her vocals perfectly, so you would never even know that I was completely all over that first song. She wanted me to sing the whole thing, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Lana Del Rey Didn't Know She Was the Only Featuring Singer on 'Snow on the Beach'
In a previous interview, Del Rey said she wasn't aware that she was the only singer that was featured on the first version of the song.
She explained that if she knew beforehand that she was the only one, she would have "sung the entire second verse" as it was what she wanted in the first place.
The musician added that her job as a collaborator on someone's project is to make sure to help with the production, so that was she did, she became focused as a producer.
