Kanye West Acoustic Cover: Raury Performs 'Blood On The Leaves' [WATCH]

Raury wrote his first song when he was 3 years old, and now the 18-year-old rapper/singer finally has a label deal with Columbia Records.

Stopping in with the Hot97 morning crew on Monday, he talked about his budding career and the high praise he's already received. A recent Pitchfork review compared him to fellow Atlantan Andre 3000 as well as Bon Iver, Kid Cudi, Frank Ocean and Lorde.

"I have a lot to live up to," he told Ebro and his Hot97 gang. "I have a lot to prove. I've known that since I dropped 'God's Whisper,' and people will still say the same thing, you know? But I wouldn't say they're ahead of themselves. I believe in myself."

He's working on a new album after his first LP, Indigo Child, dropped earlier this year. The 13-song release is available for free on his website (but you have to play an interactive game before you download).

On Monday, he also gave radio listeners an interesting guitar cover of Kanye's "Blood on the Leaves."

While his 12-string skills still need a little work, Raury managed to hang in there for the duration of the performance, and even added his own verse to the end:

See I was just 17 in the summer
I hadn't met your mother
We had a flirtatious history
And you invited me over

The rap bit definitely reminds one of Andre. Check it out here:

In June, Raury sat down with Pigeons and Planes to discuss his style.

"Even now, I just create from my experiences," he said. "That's why it never sounds the same. That's why it sounds so tireless and so different because I don't necessarily think that my sound is set in stone yet. Finding your sound, I don't even think that I'm there yet. I still don't know what the fuck I'm doing. I've been producing for like a year and some change, so I'm still on the path. I guess it's going to take a long time.

"I'm way more than just an artist. I'm very business oriented. I want to grow into things beyond just being an artist. I want to spread my message and give back to the world. I want to develop an organization or some type of charity movement that kind of does everything, and also have a label."
