Jamie Foxx is accused of sexually assaulting a woman eight years ago, and just a few days before the end of the New York Adult Survivors Act next week.
According to reports, the actor slash singer is being sued for sexual assault that took place at Catch NYC & Roof in August 2015.
The unnamed woman met Foxx at the rooftop lounge and bar; her friend asked for a picture with him, and he allegedly responded with "Sure, baby, anything for you."
He then commented about her body and told her she looked like Gabrielle Union before pulling her aside and putting both his hands on her waist before shoving them under her top.
Reports also note that Jane Doe claimed that multiple people saw the incident, but "they chose to walk away."
Jamie Foxx Faces Sexual Assault Lawsuit
As per the lawsuit's documents, Jane Doe underwent medical treatment for her injuries brought about by the altercation and experienced emotional distress.
As per Variety, the lawsuit is filed under the New York Adult Survivor Act, which was opened a year prior, but is now closing; the deadline for similar claims will be on Thursday.
Through this act, the survivors of sexual assault are able to file civil suits past the statutes of limitations.
Foxx is yet to release a statement in regards to the allegations, however, it seems like netizens have already made up their minds.
Several people online have begun calling out the actor and expressed their disappointment via X (formerly known as Twitter): "Wow... can't trust anyone these days. All men are truly disgusting."
"Do men not know what consent is anymore. Omg."
"Lord the whole industry going down," another added.
Jamie Foxx Survives Medical Emergency
The sexual assault case comes on the heels of Foxx's recent medical emergency a few months back.
According to People Magazine, the actor's daughter, Corinne Foxx, issued a statement regarding his health in April, noting that he experienced a "medical complication."
"Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers," the statement read.
It took months before Foxx eventually came to address the health concern himself through social media. He noted how he was "finally starting to feel like [himself," and how it was "an unexpected dark journey."
"I can see the light," he added.
