Looks like the fans have asked for more Barbra Streisand, and SiriusXM is answering!
The satellite radio juggernaut just announced plans to launch an all Streisand radio channel that will kick off this coming Friday, Sept. 12, at 5 p.m. ET on Sirius' channel 69, XM's channel 73 and the SiriusXM Internet Radio app, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The month-long Streisand-a-thon will end on Oct. 10.
Until the channel's end, however, fans will have the chance to listen to the singer's vast recordings, which spans from her 1963 debut all the way to her newest upcoming duets album, Partners, which is dropping on Sept. 16.
As an added perk to the Streisand channel, Sirius is offering a "Town Hall" special where the famed singer will sit in for a Q&A with SiriusXM listeners located in New York. That will air on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 12 p.m. and will then be available on demand following the initial airing.
On having the new channel, Sirius XM president Scott Greenstein stated, "Barbra Streisand is an artist who is the very definition of the word icon. Her original voice, songwriting, performances and life's work has made her a universal star and humanitarian leader. Along the way she has created some of the best-selling albums of all time, as well as being an award winning actress known for her work on stage, film and TV. Our exclusive channel celebrating Ms. Streisand is a truly comprehensive and deep dive into the music of one of the world's most important artists ever. We are looking forward to welcoming Ms. Streisand to our studios to be a part of our 'Town Hall' series and discuss her new album with her fans."
