Even when it came to talking about death, beloved comedienne Joan Rivers was a straight shooter. While she wanted her funeral to be a 'big showbiz affair' it's kind of hilarious to think that the usually despised paparazzi was welcome but the likes of Michelle Obama, Chelsea Handler and Adele were forbidden.
It appears the one thing that proves this iconic entertainer really was just a normal person at the end of the day is the fact that she also had a few people that she would rather not deal with ... just like the rest of us!
In an interview with The Sunday Times just a few short weeks before her death, Rivers talked about understanding that death was both inevitable and probably imminent given her age of 81. She said that she had really started to focus a bit on helping her daughter Melissa Rivers come to terms with the idea that this life altering event was probably going to happen sooner rather than later.
As for that list of people the Fashion Police star had banned from her funeral in advance, The First Lady was dubbed a 'tranny', Adele was 'fat' and the legendary comedienne referred to Chelsea Handler as a 'drunk' and 'a w*ore'. Perhaps Melissa Rivers didn't expect to be making funeral arrangements this past week but when forced to do so she has confirmed that she followed her mother's instructions to the letter.
Are you surprised to learn that Rivers was so harsh about these three popular women or was it just par for the course for the funny lady? Do you think they were truly banned or did saying that during one of her last interviews just insure that it would be well read?
