It's confirmed! Darius Rucker will officially receive his Hollywood Walk of Fame star in Los Angeles, California. It appears that the musician couldn't believe the big honor that he's set to receive based on his social media post.
Taking to his online profile to react on the big news, the musician exclaimed: "IS THIS REAL?!?!" He added that he's "Honored to receive the 2,766th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!!"
According to Taste of Country, the placement of Rucker's star will be special as it will be close to Charley Pride, his good friend and mentor.
"I think he will be happy to know that his mentor and friend Charley Pride's star is a few feet away from his star," Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said in a statement.
Darius Rucker's Admiration to Charley Pride
Per the outlet, the musician started looking up to Pride when he heard his music as a child. When he was got the chance to watch him through an episode of "Hee Haw," he was amazed to see someone that looked like him in the field of country music.
Later on, Rucker went on to launch his career by being the lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish.
He changed his genre in 2008 and became a country solo artist. He went on to have a successful career in his field as his four albums went number one and he had 10 chart-topping songs.
Due to his status as a legendary name in the genre, he was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2012.
Darius Rucker Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Induction Ceremony
According to the Hollywood Walk of Fame's official website, a ceremony will be held to honor his career and success in the industry at 7065 Hollywood Boulevard in California.
The event will be on December 4, at 11:30 a.m. PT and will be hosted by Accesss Hollywood and Access Daily with Mario as well as Kit Hoover.
There will be guest speakers to give speeches about Darius Rucker, but they have yet to announce who they are.
Rucker isn't the only country musician who has a star in the Walk of Fame as Garth Brooks, Clint Black, Gene Autry, and Eddy Arnold were previously inducted.
