Taylor Swift surprised and gifted her fans by releasing one of her most highly requested songs, "You're Losing Me," on streaming platforms to celebrate being named Spotify's Global Top Artist in 2023, and it led Swifties down an intense rabbit hole.

The song is a bonus track from Swift's latest album "Midnights," which was released in October 2022; it paints a startling picture of the singer's relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.

The telling song includes lyrics like: "Every mornin', I glared at you with storms in my eyes/ How can you say that you love someone you can't tell is dyin'?/ I sent you signals and bit my nails down to the quick/ My face was gray, but you wouldn't admit that we were sick."

The song was initially released on May 23, 2023, as a part of the "Late Night" edition of "Midnights."

Jack Antonoff Reveals When Taylor Swift Recorded 'You're Losing Me'

According to reports, Swift's longtime collaborator and producer, Jack Antonoff, took to social media to share exactly what happened moments before they recorded "You're Losing Me."

"'You're Losing Me' is out today, a very special track from the Midnights sessions that's finally streaming!" Antonoff wrote in an Instagram Story that shows a picture of the singer in a kitchen.

"Written and recorded at home on 12/5/21 after Taylor ate these raisins," he added.

Swifties had a meltdown and went down a rabbit hole, digging up pictures and articles referencing the singer's life during the time of the song's recording, as they realized that "Midnights" is a "break up album."

Taylor Swift, Joe Alwyn Break Up

According to reports, Swift and Alwyn broke up in March 2023, an entire year-and a couple of months-after she recorded "You're Losing Me."

Swifties also referenced several other songs from the singer's 10th studio album, which alludes to the impending breakup, like "The Great War," Bejeweled," "Lavender Haze," "Glitch," and more.

"That explains a lot of the 'Midnights' lyrics. If TK is end game, may she be bejeweled forever."

"She wasted her time for HOW much longer!?"

"Days before her birthday, then seven months later attempting to rip her hands out running from the VMAs paparazzi. that man is going to hell's deepest pits," another added.
