Doing good is a staple principle that has always been deemed as beneficial for humanity. It's not always easy to be kind and do only the right things. Professor Newton Lee-founding president of Los Angeles-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit Institute for Education, Research, and Scholarships (IFERS)-is doing things differently by acting as an advocate for compassion and generosity for the unfortunate and unprivileged individuals.

Professor Lee is not alone in his quest to make life better for people who are suffering in many parts of the world. IFERS' donors and sponsors are helping Prof. Lee in spreading smiles for people in need. Former American Idol contestant Inessa Lee is one of IFERS' supporters as she stands by the organization and Prof. Lee in providing aid to the unfortunate and unprivileged individuals through music.

How Professor Lee Oversees Music for Humanity in Line with IFERS' Mission

Los Angeles-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit Institute for Education, Research, and Scholarships-under the leadership of founding president Professor Newton Lee-is partnering with musicians and DJ's to support humanitarian work. Musicians and DJ's for Humanity publish their music with IFERS, with the goal of donating up to 100% of their music revenues to support education, research, and scholarships worldwide.

"Coffee Face" Singer, Inessa Lee, is One of the Musician Donors for IFERS Music

Former American Idol contestant Inessa Lee is one of the major supporters of IFERS music. She has committed to donating 100 percent of her revenues garnered from her song "Coffee Face" to support IFERS' humanitarian projects.

The following is an interview with Inessa Lee on November 23, 2023:

1. What inspired you to do charitable work for IFERS via music, in this case, through the song "Coffee Face"?

IFERS has been helping children with diabetes and disabilities, sponsoring education for African doctors and K-12 schools, among many humanitarian projects. As a volunteer at IFERS, I decided to create an educational cartoon video for children, and give all the proceeds from the "Coffee Face" single to support education, research, and scholarships.

2. What is the main idea of "Coffee Face" music video and the song?

Coffee Face is the ultimate coffee anthem. I love coffee and I realize the power of early to rise and exercise like the owl in the music video. It is also about achieving goals and overcoming obstacles on the way to success no matter what. The owl in the video is climbing Mount Everest, exercising in the gym, and becoming an astronaut due to his determination, optimism, and of course the power of coffee.

3. Do you see yourself doing more music charity work for the next couple of years that follow? If so, why?

I will continue doing charity through music and other activities. My childhood wasn't easy, but I enjoy helping others. Those who are in need should feel that they are not alone in this world. There's always someone who can become their personal "Santa Clause".

4. You took a long break from music because of bipolar disorder. What inspired you to create songs again?

One day I woke up and told myself: I need to do what I love doing the most - singing. I can be myself only through music, by expressing emotions in the recording studio. So music has helped me overcome bipolar disorder and to get back to my normal self again.

5. Are you currently working on any new songs?

Yes, I am working on the anthem of Equalism which is something more than just a song for me. A few years ago, I came up with the socioeconomic theory called Equalism. It's about equitable distribution of resources on the planet through the use of technology. My next song will reflect this idea. It's about an equal opportunity for everyone to live an abundant and happy life. I see myself as a "social activist singer".

6. And where can we find out more about Equalism theory?

You can read more about it in Chapter 66 of The Transhumanist Handbook by Prof. Newton Lee (Springer Nature, 2019). Professor Lee and I have been working on refining the Equalism theory. Please stay tuned for the new song that will be the anthem of Equalism.
