Ozzy Osbourne Bio
John Michael Osbourne (professionally known as Ozzy Osbourne) was born on December 3, 1948 in Birmingham, England. Osbourne grew up in a modest-class family, and dropped out of school when he was 15, and from then on, took on low paying jobs. As a teen, Ozzy got involved in minor criminal activities, and at 17, the musician went to prison for two months for burglary, as per All Music.

After Ozzy got out of prision when he was in his late teens, he formed a rock band called, Earth, with Tony Iommi. Because there was another group of the same name, Earth changed its band name to Black Sabbath. The band got their new name by naming themselves after a Boris Karloff movie.
In February 1970, Ozzy Osbourne and the rest of the Black Sabbath released their self-titled debut album, and this project immediately became the source for a loyal fan base following for the band to acquire in both Britain and the United States, as per Britannica. Black Sabbath released a new album each year throughout the mid-1970's, except on 1974. After having released a couple of albums with Black Sabbath, Ozzy decided to leave the band after Black Sabbath's tour in 1978 called, "Never Say Die" was completed.

Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath Hits, Accomplishments, and Accolades
Ozzy Osbourne's first Top 40 hit single as a solo artist was "Mama, I'm Coming Home" from the album, "No More Tears" (1991). In 1993, Sharon Osbourne's husband snagged the Grammy award for best metal performance for the song, "I Don't Want to Change the World." Ozzy's debut album as a solo artist was "Blizzard of Ozz" (1980). The lead single off this album was "Crazy Train."
Before the 1990's decade ended, Ozzy Osbourne had reunited with his Black Sabbath bandmates by releasing a new album and going on a new tour as a group. In 1999, Black Sabbath won a Grammy award for best metal performance for their song, "Iron Man."
Powerwolf Does a Cover of 'Bark at the Moon' to Celebrate Ozzy's Birthday 2023
German metal music group, Powerwolf has gone out of its way to commemorate the Prince of Darkness' Ozzy Osbourne's 75th birthday by doing their own cover version of Ozzy's solo artist track called, "Bark at the Moon," as per Blabber Mouth.
