Metallica is currently celebrating the 40th anniversary of their first album "Kill 'Em All" and there was something from the recording experience that Kirk Hammett couldn't forget about.
The musician and assistant engineer Andrew Wroblewski recently appeared in an interview with Metal Mayhem ROC podcast to discuss some of the stories and highlights while they were recording the album four decades ago.
The hosts of the show showed Hammett a few photos that dated back many years ago. At the time, the band was inspired by Led Zeppelin who rented a house to get a "raw" sound for his album.
Later on, they stumbled upon a picture of Lars Ulrich and they noted that the musician claimed he saw ghosts while they were recording the album.
Metallica Recorded Their Album in a Haunted Place?
Wroblewski said: "That picture of Lars [Ulrich], that's where, if you remember, he was seeing the ghosts?" to which Hammett responded with, "Yeah. I remember [that] the upstairs - or the whole building was supposedly haunted." (via Loudwire)
The assistant engineer noted that the whole building was haunted, there was one time during the recording session when Ulrich was in the bathroom and he told the other people why Wroblewsky was walking all the time.

However, Chris Bubacz, the other engineer, clarified that he never went anywhere as he was sitting beside him all the time.
Lars Ulrich Recalls Haunting Experience
Lars Ulrich previously detailed what he felt during those days in a separate interview with Metal Hammer where he said that the studio they recorded the album in was located in the basement of an old colonial-type of the clubhouse.
The second floor of the place was a big ballroom which he considered a great place to record drums because of how big it was.
However, the only downside of the property was it was haunted. "My cymbals would start spinning for no reason, s*** like that. It was scary," he said.
In other updates, Metallica is currently in the middle of touring for their M72 World Tour and their last show in 2023 will be on December 14 at the Soundstorm Festival in Banban, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
They will take a long break before they return to touring in Europe in May. More details are available on their official website.
