Brenda Lee managed to overtake Mariah Carey's usual stop on the Billboard Hot 100 every time the holidays rolled around.
According to reports, Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, 65 years after its initial release.
Apparently, despite the song being famous worldwide and a staple in Christmas playlists, this is the first time "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" has reached the highly coveted spot on the music chart.
Other Christmas anthems have also entered the Billboard Hot 100: "All I Want For Christmas is You" by Carey is at No. 2, "Jingle Bell Rock" by Bobby Helms is at No. 4, "Last Christmas" by Wham! Is at No. 5, "A Holly Jolly Christmas" by Burl Ives is at No. 6, and "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" by Andy Williams is at No. 10.
Brenda Lee Makes a Stunning Comeback
Lee welcomed people to the Christmas season by singing her iconic 1960s song on the intercom of an airplane she rode a few weeks back, noted several reports.
This is the first time the song reached the No. 1 spot, after years of it playing second fiddle to Carey's hit song "All I Want For Christmas Is You."
According to Billboard, "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" streams skyrocketed, earning 34.9 million streams with 3,000 downloads from November 24 to 30.
The first time it entered the music charts was back in December 1960, two years after its initial release in 1958.

Brenda Lee Drops 'Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree' Music Video
Just a few days before the 65th anniversary of her iconic Christmas anthem, Lee released an official music video for "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree."
She was accompanied by Trisha Yearwood and Tanya Tucker. "Trisha and Tanya are my buds," she said in an interview.
"They're always up for anything we ask each other. If one of them asks me to do something, I'll do it. If I ask one of them, they'll do it. So, I just thought it would be cool to have them on it. And their tenure in the industry speaks for itself, as does the song 'Rockin'. So I was just very honored that they saw fit to do it."
Lee recorded the song when she was 13 years old; it was written by Johnny Marks, who also wrote other Christmas song hits like "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "A Holly Jolly Christmas."
