Usher fans may have to wait a little longer to hear the R&B star's next album.
In an interview with Billboard, the singer said that he's taking some more to work his next effort, titled UR, which was reported to be coming out later this year. "The album isn't scheduled anymore. I've basically taken it back. I'm taking my time with it," he told Billboard. "At the end of the day, all of this is just about having fun. You get in the studio [and] go with how you feel."
And it sounds like it would be hard not to have fun making music with the likes of Pop & Oak, Diplo, Ed Sheeran and Skrillex, all of whom will be featured on the album. So far, the public has heard "Good Kisser" and "She Came To Give It To You" featuring Nicki Minaj, but that's it.
"It was just a different take. It's something that feels very modern, but the vocal on it feels very specific to my style," the singer said. "I wanted to do something that I felt like would be current, but wouldn't necessarily conform specifically."
Usher is a little busier nowadays than when he was working on his last album, 2012's Looking 4 Myself. Now the entertainer has to balance his recording career with his television endeavors on The Voice and his film roles (he'll be playing famed boxer Sugar Ray Leonard in the biopic Hands of Stone).
Thankfully, the entertainer's 27-city tour is still on track, according to UsherWorld.
