Jamie, the father of Britney Spears, had his leg amputated a month ago and is reportedly not doing well.
Jamie spent weeks in the hospital due to a severe infection in one of his legs, per TMZ.
After five botched attempts to stem the illness, the doctors concluded that amputation was the only viable course of action.
There is now optimism that Britney can begin to restore her damaged connection with her father, 71, as she has begun bond with her mother Lynne, 68 again. It's said that despite everything, she still loves him and he doesn't hold grudges against her after the conservatorship dispute.

No matter what had transpired during the conservatorship, some are saying that since it is Jamie who relocated from Louisiana in 2007 to take care of his daughter, Jamie might have saved Britney's life.
Uncertainty surrounds whether her attempts to rebuild a relationship with her father will affect the ongoing court proceedings about the conservatorship claims.
After yet another unsuccessful attempt at alcohol treatment, Jamie was back living with his youngest daughter Jamie Lynn at her newly constructed home in Louisiana, as DailyMail.com exclusively reported back in October.
An insider close to the Spears family alleges that Jamie, whose protracted battle with alcohol was originally chronicled by his ex-wife Lynne in her 2008 book Through the Storm, left treatment in July after finishing a 30-day program.
Since then, the father-of-three has reportedly battled to maintain sobriety. A source revealed that Jamie Lynn's property in Hammond, Louisiana is home to Britney's father, who has been living in a guest house with her husband Jamie Watson and their children Ivey, age five, and Maddie, age fifteen.
The source also stated that his drinking habits have caused severe worry for his family. "Jamie recently completed treatment for alcoholism, which worries Lynne and Jamie Lynn," they stated.
In an interview with The Mail on Sunday in December 2022, he personally disclosed that he had moved in with his younger daughter Jamie Lynn. At the time, he attributed the relocation to health issues.
On his Instagram Stories on Saturday, Britney Spears' manager, Cade Hudson, shared a photo of the singer beside her brother, Bryan Spears, and mother, Lynne Spears.
According to Page Six, the three of them got together to celebrate the pop star's 42nd birthday. The "Gimme More" singer hugged her mother, 68, in the black-and-white photo that fan pages posted to Twitter, with her brother, 46, standing in front of her.
