Taylor Swift's re-recordings were perhaps one of the biggest and smartest business moves in the music industry's history. Reclaiming her stolen masters and royalties has essentially propelled her to billionaire status.

Now that Swift is two albums away from completing her acquisition, fans couldn't help but wait for the two records to drop. Aside from the highly-awaited self-titled debut album, fans are dying to hear the re-recorded version of "Reputation."

'Reputation (Taylor's Version)' Album Update

TIME Magazine recently crowned Taylor Swift as the 2023 Person of the Year. She bested world leaders like Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and even King Charles III, among many others.

Swift's domination in the music industry and the world in general merited recognition and status.

As she opened up to the publication, Swift gave a teaser of what's to come on her highly acclaimed album. Describing the album to be "a goth-punk moment of female rage at being gaslit by and entire social structure," "Reputation" is more than just "sick snakes and strobe lights."

The album debuted on the Billboard 200 chart in 2017, making it Swift's biggest album at the time. In 2022, "Midnights claimed the record, but "1989 (Taylor's Version)" took the title away by breaching 1.653 million album-equivalent units.

The biggest hook that the re-recording provides fans is the chance to hear previously unreleased songs that Taylor Swift added to the new album. Calling it "From The Vault" tracks, Swift described "Reputation (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)" tracks as "fire."

She even likened the experience of picking the songs to add to "collecting horcruxes" in "Harry Potter," and "collecting Infinity Stones" in "Avengers."

"Gandalf's voice is in my head every time I put out a new one. For me, it's a movie now," Swift added, referencing "Lord of the Rings."

'Reputation (Taylor's Version)' Not Released On 'The Eras' Tour

When Taylor Swift capped off her South American leg in Brazil earlier last November 2023, fans expected that she would announce the release date of her next re-recording.

Sadly, they got nothing. As of this writing, the "Reputation (Taylor's Version)" album release has yet to be announced.

Swift has always been unpredictable so who knows, she might give it as the perfect Christmas gift for everyone on Christmas Day?
