In preparation for her "Eras" Tour, Taylor Swift put in hours of intensive training.
She was determined to bring her fans a top-notch performance jam-packed with choreography. The Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter had to build up her cardio and endurance levels to achieve this goal.
Taylor Swift's Fitness
After being named Time Magazine's Person of the Year, she gave an insight into her grueling workout routine. Every night of the tour, she lasted around three hours, which meant Taylor had to be physically prepared for it.
"Every day, I would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud. Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs," the "Lavender Haze" singer revealed.
To hone her physical abilities, Taylor went through an intensive training regimen. This included gym strength conditioning and weight classes, followed by three months of dance lessons with renowned choreographer Mandy Moore.
Target Locked
Taylor had a goal in mind when she spoke to Time Magazine: to ensure that the choreography became part of her.
As she explained, she needed to reach out to her fans as she danced without any slip-ups. In other words, Taylor wanted to be wholly prepared and "over-rehearsed."
This tour was a completely different experience for Taylor Swift than her other endeavors.
She made sure to take extra measures in preparation, such as cutting out alcohol entirely.
As she told Time magazine, "Doing that show with a hangover? I don't want to know that world." This effort showed how dedicated Taylor was to making this tour better than ever before-- even if it meant going against her instincts and stepping away from the habits of her past.
Although Taylor decided to refrain from alcohol for some time, she made an exception for MTV's Video Music Awards.

Reports also indicated that as she concluded the first US leg of her tour, she could be seen carrying a glass of white wine to celebrate with her colleagues backstage.
The publication noted how this was a brief departure from her temporary sobriety at the Grammys.
The "Anti-Hero" singer clarified how serious she was about putting on an incredible show and sharing her experience with all her fans. However, obtaining tickets for the "Eras" Tour was a challenging task that eventually entailed Live Nation being investigated by the United States government.
"They had to work hard to get the tickets. I wanted to play a show longer than they ever thought it would be because that makes me feel good leaving the stadium."
