It's been over a decade since Nicki Minaj blessed fans with her debut project, Pink Friday. Today (Dec. 8), as Nicki celebrates her 41st birthday, she has also released the second installment of Pink Friday.
She wasted no time sinking her teeth into the necks of her foes, either. In "FTCU," she raps: "Ayo, I tell 'em that I'm the Sleeze, they tellin' me, 'Okay, prove it.' I leave these bi*ches on her, so now they blow it. I tell 'em I'm moving units, my videos, they gon' view it/Spotify ain't gotta lie, they're really streaming my music."
The self-proclaimed Queen of Rap enlisted the talents of Lil Uzi Vert, J. Cole, Future, Lil Wayne, Drake, and gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard for guest verses.
Following the release of her single, "Last Time I Saw You," Nicki spoke with Vogue about the song's content.
"It's a song about guilt," she told Vogue. "And I don't think people make a lot of music about the experience of guilt. But if you talk to any human being on earth about it, they would know exactly what you mean. That 'I wish I had' feeling. Once I wrote the hook, I started to think of people that I love and see every day and still take for granted. You know what I'm saying? So I hope the song does a good thing."
This is Minaj's first album since 2018's Queen, which included the singles "Bed" with Ariana Grande, "Good Form," and "Chun Li." Queen debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
