Taylor Swift has continued to surprise everyone with the records she has broken. More specifically, her "The Eras" Tour was not just a pop culture moment, it was also a huge commercial moment.
Per reports, "The Eras" Tour is aiming to breach the $1 billion mark in concert touring history, overtaking Elton John's "Farewell Yellow Brick Road," which is already in $900 million.
Taylor Swift 'The Eras' Tour $2 Billion Concert Sales
Pollstar reports said that "The Eras" Tour is estimated to earn an estimated $1.04 million in gross ticket sales, eventually making it the first ever tour in history that would hit the billion-dollar mark.
Ticket sales for the tour topped the 12-month period from Nov. 17, 2022, to Nov. 15, 2023, Variety reported. It was said that that was around 4.35 million tickets were sold across her 60 shows in the United States. An approximate $200 million was even sold from merchandise during the said period too.
Now, the publication is projecting that "The Eras" tour ticket sales for the next eligibility year will breach another million, bringing "The Eras" tour revenue to a total of $2 billion.
Pollstar initially projected that the whole show would only amass $1.4 billion - but considering that Swift is adding more and more shows, it continues to rise too. Swift has added more dates and legs internationally and domestically since the said projection.
However, the incredible feat might not be officialized.

Taylor Swift 'The Eras' Tour Not Officializing Tour Records?
According to Variety, Taylor Swift's management had revealed that it would not be releasing any official box-office numbers from "The Eras" Tour, even if it caps off in November 2024, so the numbers flying around will just be and might remain as projections.
While Pollstar considers projections as valid numbers, Billboard's Boxscore is the other way around. The publication only accepts results from official numbers from the touring companies.
In this regard, Beyonce officially topped Billboard's Boxscore charts this 2023 with $570.5 million.
Noticeably no Taylor Swift tours appear on Billboard's Box-Office Top 30 charts because Swift's management has not given out any official figures for them to use.
As of this writing, Taylor Swift is on pause for her "The Eras" Tour. She will return to touring in February 2024 for a four-night show at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.
